DESCRIPTION
OF WORK AND SITE
General
Description
The
Works include the construction of a tunnel and the new construction and the
rehabilitation of Infrastructure including (tunnels with length equal
or exceeding 400m with a reinforced concrete covered section of 60m
long x 16m wide x 8.5m high, stormwater
drainage, pumping station, sewerage, potable water networks and
electrical networks and street lighting, in addition to roads, hardscaping and street furniture, and landscaping).
Works shall also
rehabilitation and widening of some stretches, and
upgrade of a number of existing streets in the heart of the City of Beirut. The
considered streets constitute major ways for the in-town circulation of
vehicles and pedestrian traffic in addition to being considered the
center for major services, touristic and
economic activities including general trading and commerce.
